Macbeths egotistic aspirations majorly contributed to his ruination.At the plays beginning, Macbeth manifests himself as a hero by demonstrating courage and bravery. Macbeth is commended by a commander who reports his courage and atrocity towards the enemies of Scotland (Kemp, 2010). Macbeths bravery is acknowledged by Duncan, a king, who righteously remunerates him. However, the violent and brutal character of Macbeth causes him to kill a king. Although the witches (three) and Lady Macbeth influenced him to commit murder, his character and deep desire fueled and motivated his ambitions.Macbeth is first influenced by the witches (three ) who prophesied about Macbeth becoming a king (Sheinberg, 2004). He is convinced by the witches prognostication blindly with no prove. He opts to believe the predictions that were miss-interpreted. The predictions by the witches were responsible for corrupting Macbeths thoughts. However, the predictions by the witches did not in any way suggest the kings murder. The idea of treachery and murder could have crossed the mind of Macbeth because Banquo perceives his self-reproach (Kemp, 2010).His deep and black aspirations frighten him. Therefore, he declines to openly talk about the desires. He decides to send his companion, Lady Macbeth, a letter describing his state.
